Tube and tire replacement question

I just bought my 125 Trail and on day two I got a flat. On inspection I found a very tiny piece of metal protruding from the tire. So my question is can I just replace the tube given that the hole in the tire itself is very tiny? Or should I replace them both. Keep in mind that I just started riding and I will not be riding any serious terrain anytime soon.

As long as you are doing it I would pick something like this... I just put an amazon $15 for the pair on the CT90 because it was next day delivered.

CAUTION I and other pretty experienced moto mechanics have pinched the tubes on this bike, I was putting on the Shinko 244's though

I don't see a size option for 80/90-17M/C. Is there a size option I don't know about? I am just going by what the manual says.

Thanks. As for getting a tube, any recommendations? I heard the stock ones aren't that good.

I'm pretty sure it was @dmonkey who put me onto the DoubleTough brand tubes. They're butyl so you can't patch them, but they so far have been really good to me and I like them a lot.
