USB and phone holder

Hi guys, well wired up a double USB port this morning. Very simple as people have indicated. Found a live wire in head light bowl that was live when key on and earthed to a bracket below the headlight. ( the bracket the horn is on)
Not sure what others are doing regarding phone holders but I am sold on the quadlock system. It’s basically a twist and lock system. I have added ( totally modular) a powered head ( so a cable runs from the docking head to the USB port and when you dock the phone it wirelessly charges) and a vibration control. No sure if it’s needed on the CT but vibration can affect some of the new phones with image stabilisation. This solves this.
All in all it works very well. Now I can fit all the head light protector and headlight carrier. Here’s a few photos.A84638D4-B0D5-4720-ABD9-F64C8A8E8BF0.jpegD8645D50-3EA6-4B16-B741-90CCA485CDA1.jpegD634FF98-BD9B-4D20-83F7-1BF410B31332.jpeg44087264-216E-4EDC-8CF5-096F80FC69C6.jpeg

Double trouble! Nice set up.
So you will need to buy online. I see Quadlock have a US website.
Parts needed:
1. Handlebar mount ( just for your info they come with 3 different size inserts to suit various handlebar diameters. None were quite right. I used the closest size and purchased a slightly longer stainless socket head screw. ( just meant the fitting has a small gap.)
2. Vibration dampener
3. Water proof wireless charging head.

So you can just use the handlebar mount on its own which means you just need to plug you phone in each time.

Quadlock list all the motorbike models that require a vibration dampener . As the CT125 is relatively new it’s not list as needed or
not needed yet. So I used it anyway as I have a new iPhone 12 Pro max and didn’t want to damage it.

Long story, I like the set up. Waterproof charging head is not a cheap item but it makes a seemless high quality system.

Hope that helps.

Yes. I like the Quadlock system a lot but my phone is a older Samsung S7 Active which is slightly larger than the mount/case they have for the regular S7. I will probably go with another brand like a RAM mount or maybe the Quadlock universal non built in charging one? Still need to look for something to put into the hole next to the speedo for power out then? Found a lot but no backshells to cover up wiring and back of plug as they are primary designed for dash mounting. Also got to put a battery maintenance plug in to keep them topped off.

you can use waterproof heat shrink they use for well pumps to seal the back of a power port. tape the wires, then use the heatshrink over the whole back of the plug ..02

Have done that but not pretty. Was hoping for finished sealed, "O" ringed back shell assembly but haven't found yet.
I’m not sure exposed wires are going to be a problem? Most of them have a good cover and seal on the port side of them.

Same install on mine...the hole was slightly enlarged and power tapped to headlamp so they're only on with ignition...

Do you have part #'s or links for the 12v port, usb insert and wiring harness? I've looked at a number of your mods and really like them. I also liked the blacked-out exhaust shield and wondered if it's spray painted with high heat paint or actually powder coat (looks perfect in the pics)?

It comes with basic wires that you can connect to your source...in my case, they're tied into an ignition source...not sure which one now...

Yes, I used high heat satin black paint...

Thank you! The USB is backordered, but I can wait a bit. I was reading up on it and probably going to connect via headlight. Just got the bike on Friday after a long wait. Wish I ordered parts (racks, seat and foot pegs) sooner, didn't realize they came from Thailand and shipping cost so much!

They will get here quicker then you think! I don’t pay for the expedited and it is usually 4-5 days…

Thanks! Do you recommend Beezdeals or Zeedparts (for reliability and faster shipping, not so much which products I select)?

YW...I remember now...connected it to headlamp as well so I don't unexpectedly drain battery...
