Hello everyone,
New member Oldman here. My problem, I bought two Trail 125’s the both came with a USB port bracket installed. I watch a few YouTube videos and order GSG Technology ports thinking I was in business, but the ports are a hair too big to fit the bracket. Has anyone installed a port in the factory bracket? If so what is the brand name and where was it purchased? Thanks in advance, Oldman

They're all like that...I used a carbide bit and open up the hole a few 1,000th till my Amazon USB plug dropped in...I believe the only one that would drop in without modification would be Honda's own proprietary USB...probably a few hundred bucks...

This one fits the stock hole without enlarging the hole: https://japan.webike.net/products/24246581.html
The wiring plug it comes with is meant to plug into a power port that the JP bikes have but our USA bikes do not, so if you decide to use this one you'll either want to wire it direct to the battery, or tap the ignition wire so it comes on with key-on.

That's what I meant...shipping for this would be the deal killer...$20 free shipping...

I wrote up my install as part of this post:

IMO, skip the dremel if you're not using something like a flapper wheel and do it by hand. It'll take a little longer, but there's been several people who had the dremel skip a bit and it did some cosmetic scuffs on the mounting plate.

Also keep in mind, if you screw up, a replacement plate is only $45.

opening the hole up is easy. few things:
tape up the bracket so it if slips out, it will hit the tape. turn the speed down on the dremel. I opened mine up in about 30 seconds with a carbide bit on the dremel w a flex shaft. easy as pie. .02

That's not too bad...is that slow boat or express?
I'm not sure, but I've purchased a couple items separately from WeBike (side rack & the usb plug) and both packages arrived within a week of ordering. They seem to ship very quickly and they package their items well! Not trying to sound like I'm promoting them or anything but that's been my experience so far.

I used one of the amazon ones with the harness. I tried for 10 mins to get it to go. (9 mins too long) I finally lined it up and hit it with my palm. Luckily it went in without breaking any of the threads. I think they were malleable enough to just bend and return to center. The plastic nut screwed on fine. Probably not the best option but for once my impatience paid off.

I also used one of the Amazon ones, but filed away at it for a few minutes by hand before using the dremel. If you're more talented with a dremel than I am you could probably achieve the same result in 30s.

I have found that wiring is different between 2023 and 2022. Just make sure you get the right one.

The simplest most easy way to add a USB port that I can find on YouTube. There is a link to the product in Amazon as well. I have one ordered.
