Guess what's missing! Yes, that's right, the cornering bolt, feeler, or whatever that thing is called. These were put on bikes beginning in the 70s so you knew when you were getting close to the cornering limit of the bike. But just between you and me, I'm never going to lean it over that far, and if I do, I'm already on my way down. So the easiest and cheapest mod in the world is just to pull that bolt out and replace it with a short 6 mm bolt. Doesn't it look better?

Did you put shorter bolts back in to replace the footpeg feelers? I take the feelrs off to remove the footpeg rubber inserts on mine, but found if I put the footpeg rubbers back in without a bolt through them to the metal retaining plate they pop out very easily and could get lost.

Yes, exactly. I keep the rubber inserts bolted onto the pegs to help with vibration, because I do a lot of road riding and don't encounter mud off-road.

I did the same...removed the long shaft and installed a short bolt to hold the peg...seems like a pointless part considering the pedestrian nature of this bike...
