Yoshimura Trail 125 2021 Race Straight Cyclone DOES improves performance. It was the claim "and a whopping 16% max torque" that made me give it a try.

Im new to this forum stuff, knida, hit enter and off the post went. Anyways, the bike struggled going up hills, downshifting a lot, I read that this was a common complaint. I ride in Southern Lancaster County PA, not real bad hills but enough, up and down constantly. I noticed a substantail improvement going up hills, not earth shattering but definately noticable. I got the spark arrestor and installed it right away, do not plan on riding without it, I go in leafy wooded areas from time to time. The sound? I liked the whisper quiet of the stock exhaust, not crazy about the louder exhaust, Its not terribly loud, at low speed putting it is very quiet, its when you run high revs its pretty loud, but we have Harleys and crotch rockets around here that are way louder, compared to them I am very quiet.

My consumer report: Does the Yoshimura improve performance or just make more noise? Both. I highly recommend it.

121600K500_TRAIL125_2021_RSCV_FS_SS_dyno_2048x2048.pngI talked to Don Franzen at Yoshi's R&D dept. 2 week's ago and he said the new cyclone exhaust for the 2023 CT-125 will be available around mid July.. I asked him to make sure there's a bung for my O2 sensor.. lol. there's no bung on the 21-22 exhausts

Riding behind another rider fitted with one, it was definitely the case that his bike would pull harder at the higher RPM than the stock exhaust. If you said +16% torque, +5.7% hp, I'd have said, "yeah that sounds about right." In terms of real world situations where my bike would only pull at around 42 mph given wind, incline, etc. his bike would pull up to 46 mph.

i'm all for spending stupid money on bike parts, don't get me wrong. (i have a $1000 ignition on one so i get it) But its a single pipe exhaust, nothing really special. but if it makes you smile at the end of the day, thats ALL that matters. .02

I’m just waiting for my Yoshimura system to arrive from Japan with a whole bunch of other parts.
Its a unique looking bit of pipe work so I’ll make sure I do a before and after sound-performance review.

Best wishes from Tasmania.
