Since I started watching motorcycle videos I noticed that some YouTubers buy bikes like the 125 just to film mods, as soon as they do everything you can to it which isn't a lot for the 125 then it's on to the next bike. I wonder if they really knew the 125 or if it was just a machine to work on. Call me crazy but the 125 is more than a motorcycle to me. I've found that relationship with different things in my life, guns, knives etc that become more than just a thing to me. I hope to enjoy the 125 good and not so good for a long time after I run out of farkles to install

It may just be easier to film that sort of content than motovlogging. I only have two videos up on my channel and it is somewhat challenging to ride and make it entertaining to watch. Installation/mod videos are more how-to and people don't watch them so much for entertainment purposes.

I think I should refine my initial post. After some research I found the term content creator which describes youtube members who are simply trying to film content for their site vs motorcycle lovers who post videos of the time spent with their bikes. I inadvertently confused the 2 things and it was not my intention to include the hobbyists who create the majority of the videos I watch, my apologies to them.

There's a popular YouTube channel, Mighty Car Mods, that recently made a video for modding the Honda Trail 125 and it sparked similar thoughts for me. It's a monetized and drawn out video that spent a lot of time pitching the channel that you're already watching a video on, and their sponsored products. I don't blame them for it, that's this business and they've made some great videos. Just not the type of content I personally find most interesting. Their "out in the field" type videos off-roading Kei trucks and such has more appeal to me. There wasn't much "meat" to the Trail 125 video, or the level of technical detail that a hobbyist or enthusiastic owner might mention.

As for folks buying the Trail 125, modding it to death, and then moving on - I think that's currently a very common thing for motorcycles in the USA, especially less expensive ones. There have been many CT125s listed in the classifieds with low miles and tons of mods. For this bike in particular there may be additional disconnect between expectations and reality, where folks wanted something other than what the Honda Trail is.
