This is exactly what it's doing, and I confirmed this with the dealership that it's hooked into the new inventory, but there's no way of telling if the bike is for someone on a waitlist or not. I always confirm on the dealer page if it's available; some of the better websites do make sure to go through and delete the listing so they won't get unnecessary phone calls.Since that pulls from listings on dealership websites, I wouldn't trust it to be accurate of what's in stock.
To put it bluntly, every day in the morning and evening I load up the page and see if there's any new listings. I've been searching anywhere within 1200 mi of where I live. In 146 days of checking, I've seen a few things. During the recent LA port closure, the "youngest" listing was 140+ days old. Since I started looking there has been zero bikes listed in Washington, Oregon, Idaho or Montana, 7 in California (all spoken for), 2 in Las Vegas (both spoken for but I added myself to the deposit list in Las Vegas).
Outside of that but enough to make me think hard about it has been a few in Wyoming and 1 in Phoenix, Arizona. As an Aussie, it took a moment of googling to realize that LA is not Los Angeles, which is always an excitement-then-disappointment moment. Lately there hasn't been anything in California so either they're wisening up to not listing their stock, or there's literally no bikes going to California. What does comes from that is that I notice certain places: I can tell you that there's a lot of bikes popping up in Kansas, Missouri and Louisiana based on the motohunt website.
If I was the bearer of bad news, sorry but not sorry, just as someone using Motohunt I sure as hell hope you have better luck than I have. To be perfectly blunt for how hard I've been searching, I'll just say that I've been looking into this hard enough to know that it was $300 cheaper to rent a u-haul and drop it off just inside the CA border as opposed to just over the border in Oregon, even if the driving leg was substantially shorter.
