    Opmid 1208 for 2024

...solution, other than possibly splicing temp sensor wires, is to purchase the Opmid M1204 multi meter and then purchase the Opmid M1209 oil drain plug temperature sensor to pair it with. https://japan.webike.net/products/25885546.html Here is a video detailing that install: Personally, I...

Good move on the oil filter Honda!

Thank you for weighing in, your knowledge goes a long ways around here! Thank you again for your help. I have 403 total miles on the bike. 101 miles since the drain plug mishap. I do plan on doing another oil/filter change at 500 miles to get an idea of how it is trending.

Good move on the oil filter Honda!

For just a little bit of a rewind I am the guy who over-torqued my drain plug and stripped it. I opted to upsize the plug to 14mm and did a drill/tap on it to get it there. I wanted to do a quick interval oil change just to make sure the filter caught anything I did not get out when flushing it...

What do you think of the bike now?

...change it after the first 50 miles again after 200 miles, and again after 600 miles a couple times then every thousand or so. A magnetic drain plug will show you when it is (Ready to Race !) when the metal bits are no longer on the plug when you drain the oil. Then you can have fun with it...

2023 600 mile service... Standby for news!

Great info as always, dmonkey! I did my 600 mile maintenance yesterday, all with parts ordered on Amazon. Ended up with the MP-01 since I didn’t know about the MP-01T, started ordering the wrong oil filter (Amazon recommends a 2-pack of ATV filters that don’t fit) but eventually got the right...

Yikes! So sorry for the bad part number. I swore I was linking the MP-01. Thank you for correcting this- sorry OP! As an aside I did have the MP-01 in my bike- the error was too much torque.

That link is for a different part with a different thread. Not compatible with the CT125. Now I'm wondering if that might have been the cause of your stripped drain plug thread. @Newrider@66 make sure whatever you buy says it has a M12x1.5 thread or has the right part number.

The 2020-2022 JA55 model CT125's OEM oil drain plug has a 17mm hex head that matches the Gold Plug MP-01, while the 2023-2024 JA65 model's OEM oil drain plug has a 12mm hex head that matches the Gold Plug MP-01T. Both have the same thread of M12x1.5 so either will work, some people just prefer...

New member, Haven't ridden a motorcycle since 1978. Just got my bike. I'd like to do the oil change early and put in a gold plug. I have searched the forum and online and am really confused about what to get. Can someone put a valid source with a link to where to get a gold magnetic drain plug?

    Electrical Stuff

It is safe for all of these items to be wired to the battery, and they're not going to cause an issue while the bike is running, but if you have them connected to the battery and in use while the bike is off and not recharging the battery it will drain the battery over time. If you go that route...

Most of what you are seeing on the magnetic plug is most likely clutch/friction material. No need to worry about it if it is grayish, soft, pliable- almost like watery, sticky clay. Chunks- that could be wear in material. If you took a pic post it up, but I think you are good!

...oil (Castrol 10/40 - exceeds Honda's specification), will not reopen the oil discussion just saying that's what I did. When I removed the drain plug I was actually shocked at the amount of filings, and crud on the magnet... I was actually taken aback a little... more than I've actually ever...
