    Ever seen one of these?

People are so quick to forget how the Japanese brands were first perceived when they hit the US Market. It took a long time before they became the pinnacle of reliability as the high quality Japanese brands distanced themselves from the low quality ones. We are in the later stages of the exact...

The new ads at the top suck

I have so many ad blockers in my life that I similarly has no clue there were ads on this site. I know this website probably loses money and donation click-through rate is notoriously awful (i.e. why Wikipedia has to constantly beg for donations) so I understand why the ads are up. I am also on...

Take the Puppy to the Beach - A 50/50 Dirt/Paved route proceeding North from the Rhode Island Shoreline

Nothing hard set yet I just know it's something I want to give a shot at some point this year. I'll post here when I get a better idea of when I want to ride it.

Take the Puppy to the Beach - A 50/50 Dirt/Paved route proceeding North from the Rhode Island Shoreline

Hello Everyone, I am hoping to run the well known "Take the Puppy to the Beach" route from the Rhode Island shoreline north sometime this Summer. My understanding is this route at a brisk pace takes ~6 hours, and I'm not exactly an experienced rider so I imagine this will take longer or even...

    Instant regret?

Even aside from the innovation I don't really care what other people do to the things they own. As long as it isn't negatively affecting others go out and have the type of fun you want to have. I certainly don't think stanced out cars are practical or desirable, but it doesn't actively annoy me...

    2023 USB Outlet

Took this route myself on my 2022 just last weekend. It comes with two small zipties to pull everything together. I won't say it isn't crowded in the headlight afterward, but it wasn't too much trouble to get everything back together, and fingers crossed I shouldn't have to open up the headlight...

    TOP SPEED

Don't disagree, but for the record it was a headwind. What does the rulebook say about wind inhibited downhill GPS speeds? :ROFLMAO:

    TOP SPEED

Ended up with a new top speed last weekend. Headwind but heading pretty significantly downhill. Speedometer said 61, Rever says 60. I'm going with the bike on this one and calling it 61. Also, a 170lb rider and find I hit low 50s on flat ground. Mostly ride in the forest though so I don't end up...

    Other hobbies?

One day I'll convince myself to pull the trigger on a Sebenza. Classy knife that one.

    Puppy Drama

The ol chicken and rice method. Had to do that when I brought my dog home as well, but he's a high stress boy. Once he settled in after a few months his stomach problems went away. Fingers crossed for you and the new family member.

    Other hobbies?

For me it's a big mix of skiing, sports, traveling, video games, bass fishing, hiking, backpacking, eventually motocamping and, like all of us, banging out the never ending onslaught of home repairs/improvements/upgrades/renovations. Soon I'll be knocking my old dilapidated chimney down below my...

    Harbor Freight rack

As a self-described "Retired ole fart" you have been on this Earth way too long to have skin this thin. I don't know if you're surrounded by yes men or had a mother who told you that you could do no wrong, but you should take some time to think about why you can't deal with people disagreeing...

    Instant regret?

I really thought the XR150 came stock with knobbies. With the tires it has OEM vs the Trail it is probably strictly better on both road and dirt. Consider me corrected.

    Instant regret?

100%. The Trail is great as a farm bike. The ideal owner is probably a small town farmer that needs something simple and reliable to help lug stuff around the farm, but can also run to the store.

    Instant regret?

There is a practicality difference that I don't think is addressed by either the Grom or the XR150L. The Grom is cheaper and more capable on the road, but you're never putting it on dirt. The XR150L is cheaper and better on dirt, but not great on the road plus has the stigma that comes with...

    Instant regret?

I do agree with SneakyDingo in the sense that when this bike goes, for one reason or another, I will not get another one. One of my close friends just got his license, and is buying a 70s Honda CB Cafe/Scrambler this Saturday. He will be my primary riding partner, and so, as he gains confidence...

    Instant regret?

This bike is a fairly capable machine that will drag you slowly to just about anywhere you want to go without much fuss. It is extremely simple, low maintenance, gets great gas mileage, has amazing aftermarket support, and will take a beating without breaking a sweat. If your intended riding...

    Cardo Packtalk Edge Honda Deal

For some reason the Honda branded version of the Cardo Packtalk Edge is actually the cheapest way to buy a brand new unit. Comes from a company in the Netherlands called ChromeBurner. Mine arrived after less than a week this morning, and is working great. The matching branding is just a bonus...
