2nd thoughts on “light guards”!

I have bikes that have “unique“ headlights, tail lights, and even turn signals (usually embedded into a fairing) that can be a bit “pricey”. I think of the Trail125 as being a bit more “utilitarian“. I watched a vid that had a minor crash on a dirt trail, and managed to bust up his headlight. This got me looking at replacement costs of a few items I didn’t figure were that expensive. Looked on the site and didn’t find any “holy crap” moments about light replacement. I wasn’t ready for what I found.

Best I could find (in the states)…
Headlight… ~$300
Turn Signals… ~$65… each (just for the lens and light)
Stop light… … … ~$630!

I originally thought “those little guards look all cool and stuff, but, nah…”

My added front rack guards the headlight pretty well, and I now I have various turn signal and brake light guards on order. Just haven’t seen the cost of replacing these items mentioned, so wanted to bring it up. If I’m regurgitating old stuff (I only got my Trail a few months ago and am still new to the site), please just disregard.

Cheers

first thing I added was protection for my lights and signals, I added the stick on ones that just protect the lens's mainly. If I crash it bad enough that they don't help mitigate the damage, I've got more to worry about then those light replacements.

IF i rode int he woods id for sure have one on the ft of some kind, but i don't so not worried about it. why the back one for me? i have in the past on a different bike, once, put it up on the centerstand a bit close to a wall and smashed one.

I have a set of perfect stock turnsignals front and rear if anyone is interested. Half of Partzilla price, will be sold as a set or pair of front and pair of rear.
