I'm not saying it's a great idea or even a good idea, I'm saying it's what happened . I think it ties exactly into this statement:
The chain was effectively being lubricated every 2 tanks of fuel. If it lasts more than a tank of fuel, and you're lubricating it every tank, then it's probably gonna work.
The company itself says not to use it on bike chains as they require something that will provide longer lubrication and protection.
