Might want to keep an eye on it, others have found that it doesn't take much to break at those 2 bolt holes, and if you've got 1L sloshing around in a 2L tank that's a bit of regular weight shifting.

Good point...I haven't been on any rough roads and probably won't ever find one...all smooth paved roads...if I lived in the desert that would be different...

Hi everyone, first post here…

Whilst waiting for my CT125 to arrive in the UK (‘grey’ imports only here)… I’ve done what many have and trawled the internet for tips, advice, accessories etc

I saw an accessory that I’m keen on, but mislaid the link for it, perhaps someone knows where it can be found? I can’t find it anywhere now!

It was an auxiliary fuel tank set up (not the large red 5 litre one you see all over the net), but a smaller 2litre one that fits snugly on the area of the tool box that gets re-located vertically. It used a black ‘Fuel Friend’ bottle that can be obtained in a number of places.
It’s the frame especially I’m looking for, and a bottle if it comes with it of course.

The bottle looks like the one in this image attached.

Thanks in advance for any advice offered
Wrong! I cant remember, but I think I got heavy duty 5 liter tank and bracket for less than 50 bucks on Ebay.

When I found out this bracket needed the helmet mount, I knew that was not going to happen...$350+ to carry gas?! lol...the setup I found was simpler, lighter and way more economical...the whole setup is very firm and will not move more than a fraction of an inch when forced sideways...

Thanks for the reply Msfitoy. Your setup should serve you well for your usage. I think I give up on mounting a tank off those 2 bolts. Like you, I don't really see the point in paying so much for a mount either. The helmet mount part is well built though. Tempting.
I use my CT on rough roads and trails. If I used a similar setup to yours, I'd need to fab up some kind of support which (not saying it can't be done) I don't care to tackle right now. Think I'll invest in a fuel bottle that I can use when and where I need it.
I looked at the spare gas tank setup on my 110. Really well engineered. Heavy duty support, bolted to the fender. Built to easily stand up to trail use.

What are you planning? A alibi would be easier. You are going to need water before you need gas. A few hours without it, walking won't be the biggest concern. I did buy a 5 liter can for about 50 bucks
that seems sturdy enough to drive a truck over, I just quit carrying it,but is a good idea for checking out remote areas.
