Chain adjustment

Got around to changing the oil today. Installed a gold plug. No shavings in the old oil but I only have 217 miles on it. Also decided to adjust the chain as it was loose. I am a big guy and heavy. I adjusted chains before on my other bikes and always used my Motion Pro chain alignment tool. I used it on this bike too. When I was done i noticed that the marks on the swing arm counted six on the side of the exhaust and only four on the chain side. These are the alignment marks under the silver plates that hold the axle bolt. The sprocket and chain are in alignment. Of course I did not check the position of the tire before I adjusted the chain. Has anyone else run into this? I know some people have reported that the front tire is off center. Is the back tire off too on some bikes?
Other than that, I am having a blast riding this little bike.

neither is supposed to be. measure from axle to center of swingarm bolt on each side and square it up.

I did that too. Looks like the marks are off on the swing arm.
Trying to wrap my brain around that. Measured 17 1/4 inches from center of bolt on swing arm to center of axle bolt.

might have just been an off day on the swingarm production line. but axle to swingarm bolt is the most accurate method, period. Once its square, should be good to go.
