A dirty sock out of a boot? You're lucky to have a dirty sock. We used to have to filter the hopes and dreams of our enemies with a leaky leather boot. Ooooh, but we were happier then, those were the simpler days....

There are some minimalistic pourover options for coffee. The Soto Helix Coffee Maker packs flat and springs up when you need a cone, then it's just a matter of packing the filters themselves. I'm more of a fan of the aeropress. I have a steel Prismo filter, but unless water is plentiful I think the paper filters are the better option. Doesn't take up too much space either.
