I like the coffee just not chewing the grounds left in the bottom of the potNone of you ladies drink Cowboy coffee?
Good way to avoid all this fancy type stuff , it's simple and it's not bad.
I have to be honest , I am far from being a rocket scientist, but I can drink it all down till there is nothing left in the bottom but sludge and I may get a loose grain or two in the cup ... but that's about it.I like the coffee just not chewing the grounds left in the bottom of the pot
My name is Bryan and I like instant coffee, if I'm honest it reminds me of the coffee packets that came in the C-rations, anyone remember saving the coffee, creamer, sugar and hot chocolate packets? Put them in your canteen cup in hot water and guard duty was a breeze if you didn't over do it and get the trots.Ok I'm going to try it, no promises though.
That and a giant spoonful of sweetened condensed milk. One of the few I have not tried, we were in key west this summer and I had cuban coffee for the 1st time. Been thinking about getting a moka and trying to make some ever since then.
Thanks I'll give it a try, one of the many things I miss about the keysThat and a giant spoonful of sweetened condensed milk.

I missed the cigarettes, I was in from 81 to 84, yeah the peanut butter and crackers was a treat. Thanks for your service they started fazing out the c rats in 82 if I remember correctly.I remember that coffee and the "creamer". Yech !
Did your c-rations came with cigarettes? Ours did.
I remember those little tins of peanut butter. You'd have to stir it all up because the oil had separated from the peanut.
There's some incredible instant coffee out there. Unfortunately, it costs as much as an orange mocha Frappuccino from Starbucks HQ in Seattle, but it does exist. I'll try to remember to bring some with me.Instant coffee? Get thee behind me Satan

I'm a fan of the moka pot coffee. I pull actual shots at work, but there's something about the little moka pot that I really like...

It's usually what I do after I pick up my kids from the Eric Zoolander school for children who can't read good. While we sip orange mocha frappuchino'sWtaf is a gasoline fight, I am both excited and apprehensive at once

Seattle brings back bad memories, my wife and I dropped a DNA Sequencer off the lift gate at a clinic in downtown Seattle, cost over 200,000 dollars. Surprisingly the customer refused delivery so we had to pick up every piece and return it to the shipper in San Diego for insurance claim, my deductible was 3000, rough weekend for sure. I'm still trying to perfect my Cowboy Coffee but I believe that's going to be my route going forward. No fancy machines, filters, etc. Just a pot, coffee grounds, & water and you can make it over a campfire. I never usually get any grounds in the coffee. You can pour cold water in after making and all the grounds settle to the bottom. Then just be careful when pouring, don't pour the pot too aggressively. I like how boiling the coffee takes the acidity out of it. Some coffee makers the water doesn't get hot enough and you get that heartburn feeling afterwards. I have a GSI personal java press/french press that does a good job. Not too bulky. Also came across some descent instant coffee packets ~ Alpine Start. Not the cheapest but they have a few variations. My problem is I still need creamer in my coffee and I'm partial to WaWa french vanilla creamer. For all of you who have never heard of that (PA/NJ area) you haven't lived till you've had some. It's the nectar of the gods. So I usually fill a flask or some other container with the creamer since I like my creamer with coffee.None of you ladies drink Cowboy coffee?
