At first glance, it’s the older (ja55) engine, but beefy tires and a lifted front fender. Also a front rack and rear footpegs, as well as the extra exhaust guard (for said additional rider… footpegs). The gearing is only one tooth off the newer bikes, but that it so easily changed, I don’t understand why it would be a concern. It looks like a pretty good offering to me!

Somehow I ended up on the Honda New Zealand website. I was intrigued by the “farm bikes” category. Turns out they have a CT125 Farm version?? Looks like it comes from the factory the way the regular CT125 was meant to be. The only concern is it geared lower so it would be even slower on the road.

Yes, my 2021 CT trail 125 is one neat , and fun bike to ride..
I'm in western Missouri, Ozarks area.
Lots of old gravel roads and blacktops..
I also own a farm.. I check my cows when out putt putti'ing around .
It is definitely NOT a hiway bike.
I'm a big guy ..so that hurts it right off the git go.
Soooo . I swapped out the 39T rear sprocket for a 45T ..
Way better farm bike now.
I'm running 14/45 ..
First gear crawling isn't bad...
But ya know what ? I've got a 13T front sprocket.. that I'd like to try.
Just stock tires for now.. but Knobby's will be the next modification.
I'm thinking about it..
13/45 would be a rock crawling machine.
Or a super nice woods bike....

I couldn’t find detailed specs on the gearing but the rear sprocket looks much larger.

Here's info I got from Honda Motorbikes New Zealand when I inquired about the CT125 farm kit a while back.

The farm kit comes with a 13T front and 51T rear sprocket, 114 link chain. They said they don't do anything to compensate for speedometer and odometer misreading or ABS fault as "the farm kit is for off road use".

The center stand is removed for ground clearance and to prevent snagging.

Tyres used are Mitroc 70-100 17 FRONT M807 and Mitroc 2.75-17 REAR M897, but Shinko SR241 are also available for it.

Honda (NZ) have a full range of farm kit accessories available for the CT125, from Smith Attachments:

CT125 CENTRE PROTECTOR - $290
CT125 FRONT GUARD RISER BRKT - $60
CT125 FRONT CARRIER - $255
CT125 HANDLE BAR PROTECTOR - $110
CT125 HEADLIGHT GUARD - $180

Prices are NZD.

When I inquired with Smith Attachments they said the parts they make for it need to be purchased through Honda dealers in NZ (some ship internationally) as they do not sell those accessories direct to consumers.

My understanding is that it is optionally fitted with variations of these items after import to New Zealand, rather than literally fitted that way from the factory.

Another interesting farm kit to check out is the XRM125. It's another Cub type Honda but with a rear drum brake more similar to the modern Super Cub, or an older version of the Wave:

Too bad about the parts availability. I would like to get the handlebar guard.

You could try emailing:
parts [at] achonda.co.nz

The parts department of that dealer out of Auckland were open to shipping internationally at the customer's expense. With shipping and the currency conversion, it may end up being pricier than other options marketed specifically for the CT125 though.

I wonder what the "OEM" fender riser is like? Any different then the poorly designed aftermarket options?

It wasn’t a factory model, but there was somebody importing them in and modding them up as the “Farm model” and selling the hell out of them, to where Honda took notice. Pretty cool!
