That's a big line item that varies by state and level of coverage. Some states require uninsured/underinsured motorist bodily injury coverage. In Colorado, though it's not required by law, I've had to sign a form to acknowledge that I was declining that coverage. I'm not making a recommendation either way, anyone's insurance coverage is up to them and their own risk assessment. Just pointing out one of the factors that would make a rate different from state to state for the same person and vehicle.Uninsured/Underinsured motorist: $110 (basic coverage)
Trailblasers comments make me think the definition of full coverage can mean different things at different places.
Shouldn't take more then a phone call. I'm in California, insured with State Farm. All it took to add coverage on my Trail was a five minute phone call to my Agent. Gave her the VIN number, discussed coverage options, got some grief for adding yet another policy (in a joking way, I have almost 15 policies with them!) She took my payment, E-mailed me a copy of the insurance card for my Trail and I moved-on with my day.Any insight or advice on getting insurance in California? Same scenario. 60 years old. Clean record, no tickets. I expect to pay more, because, well, it's California.
Okay. So if I have multiple policies with Progressive, I should get a discount. Obviously I need to buy a second motorcycle! If you have more than one bike Progressive is hard to beat. 11 motorcycles, 3 quads, 3 SxS, 1 snowmobile with them. Sometimes when you add a bike your cost goes down. So if you add a cheap bike they figure you ride the others less and drop your rate.
They put more than one bike on a policy. I had 3 newer expensive bikes on a policy. A guy gave me a bike that was his grandfather's and a kind of rare bike anyway on the condition I got it running and passed it on. It needed the normal stuff for a bike that had been setting for over a decade. Tries, battery, carb work, clean up and detail. When I had it ready to go I put license and just lability insurance so I could ride it for a while to prove it out before selling it. When I got the insurance "bill" and updated insurance card it was a $35 refund check.Okay. So if I have multiple policies with Progressive, I should get a discount.
