I'm frustrate about how to take my little donkey with camping trailer?

Last weekend I moved my Travel Trailer up to the mountains for the summer but didn't get a chance to finish the rear MC Carrier I'd been designing before we had to take it up there. No matter as one of the Engineers I work with thinks that for my purposes (15' single axle vintage travel trailer) that the added weight to the rear of my travel trailer would have a negative effect on my tongue weight, especially since I don't run any sort of stabilizers on my hitch.

As I stated previously last summer I used a hitch mount carrier which worked well, but was a pain having to move from the rear hitch to the front hitch and to deal with storing at the campsite. I think for this summer I'm just going to remove the hard-mount Tonneu cover I have on my Tacoma (which is a pain) and just carry my Trail in the back of my truck. It'll probably have to go in on a diagonal but that should be fine.

Sometimes the simpliset solutions are the easiest.

I thought about that, sadly the tongue on my trailer is comically short (it's a lot of fun to back-up!) Good idea though!

Here's mine loaded up in the back of a tiny Jeep Gladiator 5' bed, with the tailgate closed. Would definitely fit in the F150 5-1/2' bed . . .

Which model Aluma trailer do you have there? I've been looking at those.

Wanted the smallest and lightest one I could get by with. Happy with it.

Nice! My Taco has the shortest bed they came with (5'?) My Grom used to fit diagonally with the tailgate closed, I'm pretty sure my Trail will too. Our first weekend mountain trip of the season where I'll take my Trail with me is coming-up later this month so I'll find-out then if it'll work and how much of a pain it is. If it doesn't work then I'll probably rent a small 8x10 storage unit in the town where we go for the summer and park the Trail there. That would actually be handy for some of the camping supplies we always seem to have to schlep up and down the hill.

I tow a 20' travel trailer and ran into the need to do something to bring the new Trail along. The back of the pickup, a 2500HD Chevy is already spoken for by an inflatable boat so the front is the only and last option. Also turns out it will I think be the best one for the simple reason as I won't ever have to dig out the Trail when I want something to jump on and go explore where a road goes, or drive into a city to grab some groceries without unhitching the travel trailer. I got the receiver for the front of the truck already and now am waiting for the motorcycle carrier to get here.

My Chev is a 2500HD and handling the weight shouldn't be an issue other than since it is already an extended cab, and an 8' box, which makes it 21 feet without the Honda on the front some care will need to be used! Not a big issue, but will make parking lots more problematic.

Just got the receiver bolted to the front of the truck, and am excited to get the motorcycle carrier soon. I was just up in the Yukon the last couple days with the trailer and if I would have had my Honda I would likely still be up there knocking around. So many little partially overgrown roads down to lakes and such that I could never take my trailer or even the truck. That Honda is going to add a new dimension to going on road trips with the travel trailer.

finally , Honda on Honda. No trailer yet.

Considering the limited towing performance of the Honda Ridgeline, I see some Ridgeline difficult towing small camper on the high way . In the future, I need to change to an F150 or Toyota Tundra. It's pity. The Ridgeline is a very good daily vehicle. I like it.

The Trail fits nicely on the front of the truck..
I welded up a stand for the carrier so I can use it for doing maintenance and such..
