Hey, Otony here, currently splitting time between Walla Walla, Washington and Bandon, Oregon. We will be moving to Bandon permanently once we are finished building our new home there.

I’ve owned two Trail 110 motor pickles over the years (and at least a dozen other bikes) and have finally decided to pick up a Trail 125 as my putt to the beach and grocery getter. I’m getting a little long in the tooth, and two-wheelers still hold a big interest for me, but my Beemer and Harley days are over. The Trail 125 however, I’m pretty sure I will enjoy it for a long while to come.

Back around 1969 I had my first ride on a Trail 90 and it left an impression on me I’ve never quite shaken. That old saw about meeting the nicest people on a Honda applies in a roundabout way to the Trail 125, it’s just nice and everyone who sees one always seems to smile.

Even though I don’t have a new 125 yet, I’ve been picking up parts here and there to make it “my way” when mine finally arrives. Our new house will be a half-mile from the beach, and about a mile from the mouth of the Coquille River, which is one of the primary salmon and steelhead runs for the state of Oregon. So I picked up a DRC fishing rod holder straight from Japan because it seemed like the right thing to do! I love the idea of popping down to the beach in the early morning to surf cast for sea perch!

I’m curious if anyone else here might be from either Walla Walla or Bandon? I’m always up for a cup of coffee and a chat.

Welcome to the forum.
We must be about the same age.
Still riding BMWs but have the 125 to fall back on when the time comes.

An interesting tidbit to share. Stopped by our local Honda dealership and asked if they had any idea when the next batch of Trail 125s would be showing up. The owner told me they had no idea, and that whenever they pop up on their list as available, he orders as many as Honda will allow.

I asked if he thought the next batch would be 2024 model years or 2023, and again, he had no idea. I realize Honda doesn’t seem too terribly interested in importing these, but the dealer I spoke to intimated that he would take as many as he could, up to a dozen, rather than the two or three he is typically allowed.

He also has zero clue as to what color the 2024 models might be, he has been told nothing so far.

This is pretty consistent with the previous years. Was the case when I bought mine in 2021, and I was looking through 2020 as well, even using a data oriented / web scraping approach. I highlighted one strategy you could try in Walla Walla and the surrounding area. If you're willing to pay more the market becomes wider, for example shipping a bike from Florida to Washington can become an avenue to get you a bike fast.
