I got two. However, I inquired about the keys from the dealer and if you have the code required to duplicate the key, apparently any dealership can do it for under $25 (an old reference says $10 to replace the key). That code came with my key from the dealership.

I only got one key and no code. I will call the dealer on Tuesday as they are closed Sunday and Monday.
Thanks for the reply.

Good luck! In case you're wondering what it actually looked like, this is one set of keys that I received. The other set of keys stayed with the bike for transportation. The piece of paper had a barcode and a 4 digit alphanumeric on it. I suspect this is a very standard thing from Honda.

EDIT: of the two keys, the one that I kept on my person during transportation was the one with the master code. Realistically this is like your master set of keys for your house; you should always be using copies, and not the master with the code reference on it. You could, for a higher cost, rekey the entire bike as well. I have no information on how much that would cost, however these are not smart locks tied to the ECU so it's likely it would not be high.

Getting extra keys for the 2022 Honda Trail 125 is an ADVENTURE!

No Honda dealers near me (50 NH miles, mind) can duplicate these Honda Trail 125 keys.

Finding a locksmith was not easy.
I had to drive all the way down to
TAXACHUSETTS to EKEYS4CARS in North Andover on Marblehead Street.
It was wicked hard to find this place!

I used my Garmin and still, I had many problems!
This area in MA is like a warzone it has very convoluted, bumpy, potholed roads.
Torn down buildings, burned up rusting cahs, crazy traffic.
First, all the local drivers have a death wish.
"Floor it when the light turns yellow."
Passing on a curve because of all the triple pahking.
(FOHGETABOUTIT. Do not evuh let anyone cut into the 1/2 cah space in front of you.)
If you don't like the way I drive then get OFF the sidewalk!

Detours, construction, traffic snarls, non working traffic signals-they just blink red 4 ways,
bridges, overpass, underpass, railroads, plus missing and/or incorrect signs.

0.3 mi
Keep left to merge onto I-495 South (Which left? You have 3 choices, one for each lane.)

5.2 mi
Take exit 102-101 onto Merrimack St., Mass. Ave. (which? / Both?)
(Is that the New Exit 102-101? Old exit 101A? or very old exit 43 from 2 yeahs ago?)
(Reminds me of Maine - ayuh, turn left at where the Ames fahm used ta be ...)

(The satellite image shows the roads heah all look like spaghetti.)

Most of the highway exits heah been renumbud many, many times.
(It wouldn't be so bad if all the exits agreed. )
Many old signs have been left up so they all disagree.
Welcome to MA. Ever seen a pre WWII stop sign?
Hint - it's yellow, sometimes with a black STOP or a black band in the middle with a faded white glass bead STOP.

0.5 mi
Keep right onto Merrimack St (wait for it ...)

0.1 mi
Turn left onto Merrimack St (see above...)

387 ft
Turn right onto Marblehead St

390 ft
Turn left onto Belmont St

180 ft
The destination is on your left.
https://ekeys4cars.com/

The ekeys4cars people were able to cut the two blanks that I supplied.

Having had ordered them (waiting weeks to arrive) from Naults using the bar code and the master key.
The ekeys4cars locksmiths ruined one blank but the second key seems to work OK.
(Did you know some keys on cars today have special electronics inside and cost $400 to replace?)

They told me an "escape route" to get back to NH.

"First, ignore all signs. Take a Right an ignore the old stop sign, cross the two lane road thru traffic
and the 2 T RR tracks unless the gate is down, take the next hard left onto and up the left
turning ramp (hidden by trees and bushes), merge into bumpah to bumpah traffic, get in your
right lane, take your next right on and around and down to the underpass to get
acrost the rivuh, then force your way to get in and stay in the right lane to get to the only
open route 495 north ramp. 495 goes north to NH ya know?" "easy."

White knuckle fast battlefield drivin'. Don't stop for nuthin'.
There's 3 marked lanes but if there's room, 5 cahs fit.

Almost all locksmiths within 50 miles heah in North NH
that I called did not have the special tooling ($5000) nor
evuh made enough Honda keys to justify buying the special tooling.

That sounds ludicrous. The key is not anything special.

Your key should have come with a code. The whole point of the code was to facilitate easily replacing or copying the key. The code is a 4 digit number IIRC, I'd have to go find my "spare" key to know for sure.

Yes. Simplifying it substantially, it typically uses a constantly changing code that can identified by the car as being something it recognizes, but also can possess an antenna designed to not interfere with other keys. In addition to that, it needs to not drain the battery of the key excessively, particularly when the car uses a keyless push-start system. The 3D printing community frequently showcases people remaking their keys after the plastic housing gets damaged/destroyed rather than forking out for a new key.

I gave up on getting an extra or 2 cut. None of the dealers close by seem to have the equipment. As I sad earlier, what an ordeal it is.

I ordered a ct125 in Jan 2022 and was lucky in that it arrived in late may of 2022. I was unlucky in that Honda didn’t ship it with keys or the master code to get a new key cut. The dealer ordered a replacement lock set and have been waiting patiently since. The part is supposed to arrive next week. I have placed multiple calls to Honda customer service and they haven’t helped.

I do have a deposit and was told by Honda CS NOT to buy until the key set is delivered. Last month Honda CS told me because I didn’t buy it (only a deposit) they can’t really help. My dealer has been good and let me come down to check out the bike but their hands are tied. It’s been so frustrating. Hopefully i can get this done soon!

thanks. Hard to believe keys and paperwork would be missed at time of shipment but maybe it was a Friday afternoon😂

So if I had a friend who liked to get spare keys made for his or her motorcycle and then use 2 zip ties to attach one to out-of-the-way area on his/her bike for worst-case scenario they wouldn't be able to buy a Honda blank off eBay and just bring it to Ace Hardware or Home Depot and get a duplicate made? My friend hasn't kept up with key technology and doesn't know anything about this weird key design. No chip though! 🤞
Ideally I'd they'd rather live in a world where we could simply have an on/off switch but this is Earth, gotta lock up.

Getting the blank key isn't hard, it's P/N: 35121-K0F-T01
You will need to find a locksmith with equipment to cut a sidewinder or "laser cut" key (the actual cutting is usually just a mill) which is more expensive than cutting a standard key, but is now the standard for automotive keys so shouldn't be impossible to find. And you need for them to either have a machine that can read and duplicate your existing key, or they need to have a subscription to a key code database that contains Honda Powersports key codes. Should be able to call around and get the answers you need over the phone before showing up to a locksmith, or call your Honda dealer and ask if they have the equipment to do it on-site.

Thank you, dmonkey! Lasers for key making sounds like more than the friendly folks at Ace can handle.
Side note: consider all of the effort put forth in the world to keep others from taking our stuff. Be sure to include computing cycles and all of the coal, nuke, solar, wind to power them, plus mining the ore and materials to make computers, security devices, locks, and lasers to make better keys. All this and it's never enough.

Yep, lots of effort in both directions of improving security and defeating security. I haven't cut laser/sidewinder keys but I used to do some locksmithing and was involved in TOOOL. There's unfortunately no such thing as a perfect lock, they are always just deterrents that can either be compromised or bypassed entirely which is why security works best when it is layered (in InfoSec the concept is Defense in Depth). Security has changed a lot in just a few decades. The original "hackers" at MIT such as Richard Stallman (RMS) advocated for open systems and used an empty string (the return key) for their password... what a nice time of innocence it was to not lock doors!

At one of my first jobs in the late 90's three or four of us shared a Desktop computer running Windows 3.1 on it. At the Password screen if you didn't want to enter a Password you could just hit the ESC key to get past it :ROFLMAO:

Modern automotive security cracks me up. My newest vehicle is a 2021 Ford F-550. It has Chipped keys, laser cut keys, factory-installed tracking system, etc. Yet I lay awake at night worrying about someone stealing it's Catalytic Converters

My Trail lives in a locked wooden shed behind a locked gate in my backyard. Out of sight out of mind and heavily insured if worse comes to worse.
