I just completed a little overnite ride with LRD. I tested out the new DIY pannier hardracks, the Tusk pilot Panniers, and basically ALL the various mods Ive done to LRD. The Ride was from Chino Area(Califonia) up route 66 and over the Cajon Pass, then onto the Lucerne Valley to King of the Motos (https://ultra4racing.com/2021-king-motos-faq-and-details). I toured aroung KOM then found a slice of heaven in a remote desert camp spot. The ride was a mix of slab and dirt...some sand, some deep ass sand, some rutted dirt, etc. The bike is freakin AMAZING as an Adventure Bike. I weigh 200 pound+ gear, + about 50 pounds of camping gear. Not a single complaint. More than enough power to cruise @ 45-50mph on the flats and 1st-2nd gear in the dirt. Very predictatble, balanced-I couldnt be happier with LRD and the panniers. AND my DIY welds on the hardracks held up just fine. A word of caution: Do not pack like me! I pack heavy...Migolito likes his comforts. Yes, I take a table, yes I take a very comfortable chair, and hell yes I take a BBQ...Doesnt everyone? I took my 'winter set up', meaning 20deg semi-rectangular long down sleeping bag, 2 person Copper Spur tent, extra long 3" inflatable mattress, heated shirt, heated gloves, extra clothes, etc. My winter set-up adds about a 50% increase in bulk and weight. I got a lot of double takes when folks looked at LRD.
