Took the main bots of bodywork off today wanted to dig around in there, see how different from the grom everything was (a lot). also wanted to look at the ECM see if it was compatible with aftermarket grom ECMs. again, no. which is sort of surprising. But ok. Also waxed all the bodywork off the bike, and ran a power connection (battery tender style) up and under the seat. can use for anything in the back crate (rack) as well.
and just got familiar with how everything comes apart.
some pics for those that might want to see whats actually under there.
big silver thing is reg/rectifier. ecm is behind battery box. abs module is below and behind battery box.
ecm plug, abs module,
rear fender slid back and rear brake master, pipe swung out.
shows washers rear rack mounts cradle in. (between 2 washers inboard of shock). right shock bolt head size: 19mm. left: 17mm
how i ran wire off battery. used 5mm brass eyelet connector and 4mm bullets from vintage connections to make '+' extension wire. slips behind battery box cover. grounded '-' side on main frame ground on RH side of bike (mass of green connectors)
and ecm differences if anyone is curious:
