Great thought on insurance covering the helmet and jacket. Didn't even occur to me. I will definitely investigate. Thanks for the tip!
Don't know who your insurance carrier is.
Progressive automatically gives you $3000 in accessory coverage.
You can increase that for very little extra.
I increased mine to $7000 because of farkles on the BMW.

The accessory coverage from Progressive is for accessories to the motorcycle. Helmet and riding gear are covered under "apparel" coverage which defaults to $500. It's a good idea to consider the cost of all of those and what level of coverage you want or don't care to pay more for. It's easy to burn through the $500 apparel coverage with just a nice helmet.

I’m sorry to hear and see all damage but thank God you came through largely unscathed relative to impact. This more than inspires me to to be sure I don every piece of protective gear every ride. In addition was holding on crash bars as they just did look that great but to heck with aesthetics after watching this. Thank you so much for sharing and more than glad my fellow CT’er doing well. Amen!

Thank you! I have a replacement light guard in the mail and I also will be riding (everytime) with full protective gear. My hip and ribs still hurt so I will be making sure to consider additional protection in those areas.
