easy as pie. less than an hour install. worst part was splitting the glued on grommets on the lines and moving them.

Nice torque wrench (y) ;)

Great work. What pads are you running with the big rotor? Curious to hear how that setups feels once they're bedded in.

A friend put bar risers on her NC700X and needed to take up a tiny bit of front brake line slack but those glued grommets were in the way. I had used boiling water to melt the adhesive before, but tried a microwavable heat pad used for melting the adhesive behind glass screens on electronics. Worked well and was much more controlled than pouring from a tea kettle.

I just sliced and split the grommets. the stock retainer clamps close them back up when tightened so no worries there. the pads are ebc hh compound, run them on all the bikes I can get them for

had the local shop order them. actually ordered them for the grom (front stock caliper), was going to put them on the rear (i have the original ft caliper on the grom on the rear, and a big brembo on the front of the grom) but when i got the pads, figured they would probably be better on the trail. so i ordered another set for the groms rear.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on two of them. Do you have a part number for the pads? I appreciate your time. Cheers.

I got the Takegawa BIg Brake kit from Webike. I’m a huge fan of braking power. After fitted, immediately found the rotor caused drastic pulsing. Front wheel shuddering was unpleasant. The rotor wasn’t flat. The uneven wear, even after >10 miles, was noticeable on the rotor. Working with Webike for a return/replacement currently.

Recently installed and experienced the pulsing as well. I've cleaned the rotor with acetone a couple of times and it seems better, will clean again this weekend. Have about 35 miles on it now.

mine eventually was pulsing as well, went back to stock rotor which irritated me. but kept the hh pads . i even checked the rotor w a runout gauge, was fine, so i think it may have been only under load it showed up. a floating disc would be better, but i think im just going to leave it as it is.

If it’s not broke….
Some of us are always looking for improvements, occasionally it doesn't work how thought it would. I don't own a motorcycle with stock brakes, larger rotors offer huge advantages. Not everyone wants to modify things and that's ok. I've yet to own anything that I haven't worked to improve. Every motorcycle has upgraded brakes, suspension, and increased power. I have an understanding wife, she rode with me to pick up the CT a couple of months ago and asked if I had already started ordering parts for it yet, when she asked I hadn't the next morning was different.

exactly. upgrading brakes is NEVER a bad idea. I know they make a better rotor for the trail, floating, but ffs its expensive.

I mean, i have a 4 pot brembo caliper on my grom from a ducati. better to over engineer and not stress the stock stuff
