    Security of the 125

Park it where it is very visible, lock the front fork, don't leave it in sketchy areas, have full coverage insurance and invest in a Kyptonite lock and chain if you must leave it unattended for long periods of time. Very good advice! I was born and raised in Chicago, and the saying goes that if...

    High mileage record?

I've been crippled up with Arthritis lately, so the bike hasn't been ridden much. October in Texas is some of the best weather that we get, and I hope to correct that mileage problem real soon! Flash

What did you name your bike?

Had many bikes over the years and they all had names. My 2022 CT 125 is named "Mickey". Flash

    Gear-changing technique?

With 50+ years of riding, I didn't think the heel/toe shifter on the CT125 would be a problem. I was wrong! My shoes are size 12EEEE and they just get tangled up in the shifter. I fixed that with an angle grinder so the back 1/2 of the shifter arm is now residing in my scrap metal box. The...

    Harbor Freight rack

I looked at that cycle rack and even decided to buy one but they were out of stock. I have a small Ford Ranger truck, but couldn't load the CT 125 in the bed by myself. Sorry to hear that it wobbles a lot. I may reconsider the purchase. Flash

What do you think of the bike now?

The limitations of the CT125 are exactly why I chose it. During the 50 years, of riding, I traveled extensively on some large, roadworthy motorcycles. That's just the problem............. My can do, didn't stay in line with the want to. I missed the feel of the wind and thought I wouldn't miss...

Honda Trail 125 Full Coverage Insurance?

My insurance is with Progressive, full coverage and $123 per year. I am 76 YO with 50+ years in the saddle. Flash

    Service manual arrived

With $16 shipping and tax, my CT125 manual cost $69.39. I ordered it from the Honda dealership. I'm in a rural area, so chances to shop for a better price are limited. It is a good manual, however. Flash

    Chain Tension Question

Be aware that the front and rear sprockets are seldom running true and they are not concentric. Also, the sprockets wear unevenly. I rotate the chain assembly until I find the tightest place in the chain/sprocket rotation. I set the actual chain tension at the tightest place. To do otherwise...

    4K mile oil change intervals?

I worked for McDonnell Douglas aircraft in Tulsa in a department that tested and certified equipment and especially hydraulic oil for military and commercial jet aircraft. Military aircraft uses petroleum based oil and commercial jets use synthetic based oil. Oil drums were sealed and locked in...

What do you think of the bike now?

After more than 50 years of riding and 30 bikes, I sold my Harley XL1200c and gave it up. It was a big mistake and regretted the loss of "Wind Therapy". I bought the CT125 for the same reasons that most of you list as "cons". It is slow...... OK, so am I at 76. It has that step through design...

Safest place to keep the registration

Harbor Freight ran a sale on their "Apache" protective equipment cases for $10 off, so I popped for one that is almost the same size as the rear rack on the CT 125. I got it mounted on the rack, so there is a place for my documents, phone, tools and other small items. The box is heavy duty, dust...

    Rider weight

6'1" and 230 pounds, I'm 76 and have lost a lot of muscle over the years. In 2011, I rode a bicycle 3,414 miles for a forum fitness program. The course was a series of residential neighborhoods easily accessed by short jogs on the paved highway shoulder. The route was safe, scenic, fun and it...

    Time from order to delivery?

I had a deal going for a Kawasaki KLR 650 just prior to the July 4th holiday and the people really jacked me around. I went to the local Honda place near my house and...... there the CT 125 sat in bright red finish! I knew of the bike's rebirth from the old days of Honda riding and also of the...

    Price mark-ups

I picked up my CT 125 on 7-6-2023 and ordered the Honda Service Manual while I was there. With $16 shipping, the manual was about $59. It will be here in about a week. I live alone and have no one to assist me, so they delivered the bike on a trailer. In all, it was a painless experience and...

    Honda SCL 500

I looked at the 500 Scrambler at the local bike shop, but they only have ONE, don't know when they'll get another one and it's too new for me to trust, yet. It is a very nice looking ride! Flash

    Price mark-ups

I just bought my CT125 after being without a bike for a couple of years. My bike was ordered for a guy who disappeared before it arrived, so it was standing right there, brand new on the floor. It's a 2022 model with zero miles. Price was $4747 OTD with TTL included. The bikes are very uncommon...

    HELLO FROM EAST HOUSTON TEXAS!

I just bought a Honda CT125 and was pleasantly surprised to see a forum dedicated to that remarkable scooter! I am single, 76 and have ridden motorcycles for over 50 years. Age and circumstances require that I downsize and restrict how and where to ride. The CT125 should be perfect in our rural...
