So I wandered into the local Honda shop to pick up a couple oil filters for the CT and what do I see is the new Scrambler 500 in Orange livery. Damn nice looking bike from first impression. They offered up a test ride as we we're chatting about it. Too soon for another new bike?

I've been looking at the Royal Enfield scrambler, the SVARTPILEN 401 and this one. All great looking bikes and I think if you're being an urban or flattrack menace, you'd have an absolute blast on them. They look like so much fun. As Thumper says, we only live once.

I looked at the 500 Scrambler at the local bike shop, but they only have ONE, don't know when they'll get another one and it's too new for me to trust, yet. It is a very nice looking ride!

I was eying that very bike. There's a few positive reviews on You Tube about it. Sure is tempting!

I like it, sat on one and would take it over the Rebel 500 for the aesthetics, ergonomics, and function. I also prefer upright bikes to cruisers though. The one thing that I don't like is the exhaust cat tumor being the low point on the bike. It defeats both the form and function purposes of the Scrambler high pipe exhaust being the way that it traditionally has been. I imagine there are or will be aftermarket exhausts to address that, or a skid plate to conceal and protect it.

This is a Japanese CL250 rather than the SCL500, but I really dig the custom classic two-tone paint job and think it would be great carried over to a SCL500.

American Honda recently did a press event in SoCal for the SCL500 same as they did one about a month ago for the XR150L.
My friend Cait attended the event and has a first-ride review up:
Steady Garage had their fully customized SCL500 at the event:

Some other reviews from the event:
Out tomorrow:

Yes, I totally agree with you. Exhaust isn't in the right place and if exhaust were in a different place, a skid plate would be nice.

with that tumor hanging out down there, id take the cb500x over that any day, doesn't look nearly as out of place on that. (and it gets an extra 1" of clearance). Or, fit, or make a much lower profile (down low) high pipe.
