I hope the event is more stimulating than this thread. We seem to have lost some enthusiasm. It’ll be here pretty quick. Me. I’ve got my rifle scabbard mounted, trailer wheels greased, got new drone batteries coming, PTO scheduled, travel route planned. Where are you in your planning and how many of us will be there? I need to know how many shot glasses and Bourbon to bring along, as I am volunteering to host the official CT gatherings first toast at the opening nights get together 😉
And we need a catchy name for the event, I’m usually good at that but nothing has hit a high note with me yet, still brainstorming on it. Anyone have something in Mind? Let’s get the momentum going again on this Honda CT thing.

I've rented an Air BNB with a large outdoor patio and firepit from the 18th thru the 24th. Kev 250R has also rented a house with an outdoor area. Between the two of us we can host night time events depending on crowd aize. I would also like to get a list of who's attending as soon as possible for planning events. I think this will be a fun and memorable event in a beautiful area and the beginning of many more.

It's funny because I woke-up this morning thinking that we need to 'stir the pot' on this ride again and get some more interest!

To that end, I've sort of been lacking on the route planning so what sort of rides do we want to take? I figure Friday and Saturday will be our main riding days so let me know some ideas on how long a ride you think will be good (miles or time). Terrain I'm trying to stick to trails which are a 1 or 2 (out of 5) maybe one 3 if we're feeling really adventurous! as I've found those to be more friendly to our type of bikes.

Let me know some thoughts and I'll get to work route-planning! I'm using On-X maps since I like the detail and features they offer plus users can add pictures and reports to Trails so you can find-out actual trail conditions.

Like Bryan said, I've rented a house in Cottonwood for the occasion and depending on how many people we have will be able to host an evening gathering. Bonus mine has a two car garage so on the off-chance we need to make any repairs, we'll have a place to do them inside if we want. I've stayed at this property before and my GF jokes that I keep going back to it because I get to park my truck in a garage when we stay there! She's not wrong LOL!

My apologies Coyote, my post made it sound like Kev250r and I were the only hosts, that was not my intention. I am currently driving back to NM from SD and wrote that on the side of the road. You are more than welcome to host the 1st night and I'll do a shot with you for luck 😉. I'm really looking forward to hanging out with as many members as possible.

Nmcoyote made some good ride suggestions in an early post, maybe at least 1 loop ride? And split the other days up? In my opinion the easiest rides should be morning rides, let everyone wake up and get the blood flowing then more challenging in the afternoon?

I like that suggestion. I generally try to loop most of my rides, though sometimes it's not possible and that's fine too.

I'll start working on some routes this week.

Sure wish I lived (at least) a little closer. Sounds like a great time 😎
Hop on a plane and I'll let you ride either the Dax or trail, we can swap off. Get a early morning or late afternoon flight and I'll pick you up, I have to drop my daughter off on Monday anyway. Now I've tempted you mercilessly, bwahaha. 😁

A little late to the party. But who would I need to talk about possibly attending this event. I’m in the process of getting my Trail 125. This would be my first bike ever & I’m out in Austin, Tx. Would love to get in touch with the hosts to see if it’s possible for me to join this event.

I'm not the official host, but you are more than welcome to join us. One thing though since your late to the party you'll need to run by Blacks BBQ in Lockhart and bring me a couple pounds of Brisket!

I hope you can make it! FWIW A few years ago with a different group I did a Fly 'N Ride. It was a lot of fun, I highly recommend it!

I’m def due for a vacation, especially after this past holiday season. I’ll be reaching out to Bryan soon for more info. My only concern is getting out there with a bike. It’s a 16 hour drive from here, so I would need to see what my options are.

Okay, so I'm *finally* working on some route's for this ride and need to know some thoughts from the group. I'm figuring on group rides on Friday and Saturday (I know other people will be there other days, I'm selfish and am only planning routes for the days when I'll be in-town). So here are a couple of questions: Do we want to do two all day rides which start and end from a central point in Cottonwood or would it be better to plan say a morning ride and then an afternoon ride for those who want to return to town for lunch as opposed to bringing and having lunch on the trail?

Second question, on Saturday would anyone be interested in trucking or trailering our Trails out of Cottonwood to explore some trails (how many times can I type that word in this post!) To explore some areas outside of Cottonwood like say in Jerome (~30 Minute drive from Cottonwood) or Crown King area (~1 Hour from Cottonwood). Doing so would allow us to see a lot more of the area without having to ride to one of these farther destinations on the street. For example there are lots of trails to explore around Jerome but it would be unpleasant to ride there from Cottonwood due to steep hills, crazy traffic, narrow roads. I am bringing my crew cab Silverado and my 8'x10' Utility trailer which can carry probably four Trails (probably more, we crammed like six TW200's on it on one trip but I digress). And I have seats for two-three people in my truck. So based on the number of people who have replied that they are going/have made reservations, I could probably fit all of us and our Trail's in my truck and trailer. The back of my Silverado has a shell so our gear would be safe too.

Just throwing it out there. If that's not what everyone wants to do then trust me I can find plenty of riding in and around the Cottonwood/Sedona area.

Also, for those keeping score at home. I'm now bringing my Trail (duh) and my TW200 instead of my Dax. My buddy who is traveling with me is more comfortable on my TW. He promises to ride it at the back of our pack and deny being with our group if anyone asks LOL!

Let me know your thoughts as I want to make this a great ride for everyone!
