On my XR650, I use an SAE-to-USB. The SAE is there for the battery tender anyway. Do the batteries on these need to be trickle charged?
This is what I have. I like the auto-off feature.

Any battery will self-discharge while sitting unused. It shouldn't be significant unless you are parking the bike for a few months. For winter storage I'd say it's a good idea.
Accessories wired to the battery can also add parasitic draw.

I may throw a lead on the battery for my tender next time I’m digging into it but it kickstarts so easy, it is the last bike I worry about.

Quick Charge 3.0 Motorcycle Type-c PD Dual USB Charger Kit with Adapter Wire Harness Compatible with Honda Trail 125 CT125 Hunter Cub (2019-2024) https://a.co/d/0Z1pLw3
Just installed mine today, direct plug and play using headlight and turn signal plugs, my only issue is the amount of wires added to a small space.

I hard wired mine straight to the battery with a inline fuse it’s worked very well so far my usb plug has a on/off switch on the plug itself and the cap that snaps over the top seals very tight so no moisture issues the job from start to finish was 1-1/2 hours to install pretty straightforward I just have never liked tapping in to factory wiring

what is best usb outlet for 23' trial. fitment and ease of installation priorty price not so much
Personally I'd recommend the one @bryanchurch06 just linked if you want the USB ports to only be powered when the ignition is switched on, https://a.co/d/0Z1pLw3
I have that installed on my CT and it's plug-and-play. You just have to take the headlight bucket apart to connect it, but no splicing wires and it can be reverted 100%.

+1 on that... Installed on my bike in just a few minutes, and very easy to take out of service if for some reason you wanted/needed to.

I picked up a USB adapter that has an SAE plug on the end. Plus an SAE plug that will be wired directly to the battery. One of the two cables has an inline fuse, but I can’t recall which at the moment.

My intention is to run the SAE plug cable back towards the rack, where it can be used for a battery tender, and when needed, the USB adapter can also plug into it. I’m thinking I will mount the adapter to my milk crate in some secure fashion. I’m not very well versed in electrical systems, so if any of the above sounds wrong, I’m all ears.

In the video the sat nav power comes from within the headlight Black/yellow stripe wire and the USB power comes from the battery via fused lead, the tender socket is wired directly to the battery with silicon 10 awg wire and an EC5 socket, this is unfused so I can directly connect to the battery if I want.

Just installed this one, couldn’t have been easier, especially for someone who doesn’t like hacking up factory wiring.

Took this route myself on my 2022 just last weekend. It comes with two small zipties to pull everything together. I won't say it isn't crowded in the headlight afterward, but it wasn't too much trouble to get everything back together, and fingers crossed I shouldn't have to open up the headlight again anytime soon.

With the USB power setup from Kurvia Store on Amazon I have ridden mine through a few downpours with the cap off and devices plugged in and it caused no issues. "It works until it doesn't" though. I'd recommend capping it or otherwise covering the USB ports in the rain. You can punch a cable through a plastic bag and then zip tie the bag tight to the cable to form a seal there, another zip tie around the meter stay to keep the bottom of the bag in place. That would form an inexpensive rain cover boot for it, though there's likely a more elegant solution to weatherproofing it with a cable plugged in.

Battery maintainer cable attached to the battery and ran to the forks. USB adapter is what I use when I need it and maintainer for storage. Two for one

I despise wiring so anything "Plug & Play" i am all in. I watched a few YT videos on the subject but all reviews on the components themselves say they are not compatible with the American 2023 Honda Trail 125. Something about 3 pin on the up to 22's and 23' having 4 pins. Still new to thr CT125 so bear with the questions.

So, the question is has anyone with a 23' installed a USB Outlet that is "Plug & Play" and not direct to the battery?

It gives both style of USB outlet plus a voltage readout. I wired in a bit more power to the stock cig plug via electrical under center console see my post under cheap chain oiler
