The Aracer ecm was super easy to install, literally just unplug the factory ecm and plug in the Aracer, it pulls power and ground etc from the factory connection, theres no wiring of anything, With the af2 it pulls power from the Aracer ecm via the splitter cable that is an optional and required accessory to the setup.. from there it runs a bluetooth feed from the O2 sensor back to the Aracer to make all of the fuel adjustments.

With regards to the O2 sensor, you will need a 18mm exhaust bung welded into the exhaust at around 5 to 8 inches away from the exhaust port, I had a fab shop do this for me but it would be a very basic welding job if you have a welder (my welder happens to be in a trailer on the top of a mountain in Idaho😭) Another option for exhaust is hotlap, https://www.hotlap-japan.com/ they have an option at checkout to add an exhaust bung to their exhaust, I would have gone this route and skipped the Yoshimura, I like the OEM look of the hotlap better and its substantially less expensive than paying for a shop to weld the bung.. labor rate is crazy.

I am really pleased with the Aracer in general, its supper impressive how fast you can make changes to the settings and the autotune basically insures it runs great without having to do anything. I have a quadlock phone mount on my handle bar, and with the Aracer app run the display that shows, tach, afr, engine temp, gps speed, its really nice to have and looks clean.
Fantastic! Thank you for the detailed response! You've got me much more convinced and closer to pulling the trigger on the Aracer setup. Like I mentioned previously, we are running almost identical setups. I went with the 145cc light bore low compression kit (from Yuminashi), SS241 cam (Yuminashi), the bearing support and oil pump with a cooler. Oh and a Kitaco Air filter and NK racing intake (ebay). I'll keep you posted if/when I go with the Aracer setup and maybe we can compare notes. I am happy with the way the bike is running right now, I'm just concerned about the excessive carbon build up on the top of the piston which I'm pretty sure is caused by improper fueling?

Aloha and many thanks for the response brah! I'll let you know how it all goes!🤙🤙🤙

Absolutely!

How do you like the NK racing intake? I was thinking about adding that to my setup. Any perceived gains?

Aloha brahda 🤙

Hard to say, I added the intake with the cylinder kit so kinda hard to compare. It was a bit of chore to get it to fit. Had to modify/enlarge the hole that the oem intake hose went through on the air filter box/cover but overall not too bad. I'll have to snap a few pics next time I have it apart but I believe someone on this board has his install documented. "m in sc" if I'm not mistaken. (that guy is a boat load of knowledge too!)

WhooHoo!!! Just received some goodies from "Hard Racing" yesterday (Aracer ecu and O2 sensor). I have a buddy that might be able to weld in the bung for the O2 sensor this weekend hopefully! To anyone that has completed this mod, access to the ecu itself? I know generally that it is located under the seat area... is it under the gas tank? Or behind the seat? Dose it require completely removing the gas tank? Oh also when ordering the parts the option for the 2 to 5 splitter cable was offered. I ended up calling "HardRacing" and was told that was not needed if all I was running was the O2 sensor with the ecu??? Thanks in advance for any input guys!

The splitter would be for if you were also installing the AF2 autotuning module. Without it, you'd be using a pre-made map (which might not match other modifications on your bike) or tuning it yourself.

The ECM is between the inner fender and the space under the fuel tank. You can lift the fuel tank without disconnecting any fuel lines, but there will still be a lot of disassembly as you'll need to remove most of the body panels and the rear carrier.
Here's a video that will walk you through getting to the ECM

Ahhhhh ok,,, time to call the shop back, I assumed incorrectly that the 02 sensor and module were specifically for the autotune function of the setup and that the guy I spoke to would know that the cable was therefore needed. Thank you for the clarification of the ecu location and the video. I'm sure I've watched it before but do not recall him accessing the ecu. I'll take another look. Thank you again!

Awesome!! congrats man!!

As mentioned above the ecu is under the seat and you can access it by undoing the four bolts (10 or 12mm) that hold the seat to the frame, and gently lift it up back towards the rack, no fuel lines or anything have to be disconnected just the plastic body panels on the side and above the fuel tank close to the rack. nothing too tricky just take your time with it.

i referenced Eastcoastish's video
to get things set up, he is using the older version of the ECU RC5 that has a different looking app interface fyi.

and as dmonkey also said, you will need the splitter cable for the af2 module to get power from the aracer ecu.

Thank you sir!

Got a buddy that will weld up the o2 bung on Sunday so I will be messing with the bike all weekend. I did call "HardRacing" back and 2 diff folks confirmed that the splitter was not needed so I will definately let you guys know whats up once I get everything put together. I also have another 145cc kit comming in on Monday that I will toss on if the current kit is as fouled up as it appeared to be with the scope.

I will check out the video too! Used to follow that guy on my 22 monkey build! Very informative for sure!
