Trying to install this in my 23, inside the headlight the wiring plug jack that is in the 2022 is not in this 23. Looked like it was supposed to be a plug and play on webike site. Anyone find a USB that for sure is connectable to this 23 without splicing wires? This was $50 shipped and I can’t find a plug on the bike that this harness connects into.

The one I bought on Amazon similiar to yours I believe replaces a plug near the battery. Try removing the battery cover.

The JDM bikes have this in the headlight, but the USDM bikes do not. I'm not sure of a way to get around it without splicing.

I ended up installing a tachometer first, which required splicing, but it also came with the plug that the USB/12v socket connects to as a part of its wiring harness.

Yeah this is clearly for a 22 or earlier model. The instructions picture is not what you see in the 23 headlight. The jacks are different in the 23, and there is a two prong jack, but it is outside and behind headlight assembly and it has different jacks, so this harness won’t patch in. I need to find an adequate hot, is there a service jack by the battery that is only hot when key on? I could splice into that maybe. Only Japan gives installation instructions in Japanese only, once the package leave Japan, nobody on earth can read it but a Japanese. Every other country gives instructions in like 17 different languages.

Are you sure that the 2022 and earlier model has that jack? My 2021 has the ignition switch, headlight plug, and turn signal plugs in there. I suspect the USB kit is meant to use the accessory power port that seems to only be present on the Japanese market bikes. If the part is specific to the Japanese market, Japan has an official language of Japanese, so that may be why there aren't any translations included. You can use the Google Translate app on a smartphone with a camera to get a rough translation.

If you want to tap switched power the ignition switch is likely your best choice. It's a very simple path to switched power that is easy to read on the wiring diagram, close to the meter stay port, and a (relatively) thick gauge of wire. The red 4-pin service connector (DLC) by the battery is also switched, but might be less convenient if you aren't just plugging a connector right into it.

If the 2023 (JA65) still uses the same 3-prong ignition switch as the earlier model (JA55) and the same wiring colors then you can see here for tapping the ignition switch:
There are also several YouTube videos of people installing USB outlets on the CT125 that may be helpful for reference, just make sure they're working on USA model bikes.

Wiring diagram for the earlier USA model is at the back of the service manual.
If the 2023's wiring looks much different Helm sells a service manual for the 2023: https://www.helminc.com/helm/product2.asp?class_2=AHC&Sku=61K2E50&itemtype=N

I just recently installed USB on the 22, and when I seen this harness today I recognized the plug jacks. The USB on the 22 came off eBay out of China, plug and play. This Japan USB is very nice quality and I’ll tap into the ignition. This kit I got today from Japan is a plug and play for a 2022 for sure and package shows “ 2020-“ for what years it fits. That is what I went off when I ordered it, never expected Honda would change plugs in the headlight assy.
