Well, 2023's didnt get announced until march of 2023 (if i recall correct). We may not know about 2024's for another 6 months.

I don't know why these seem to be announced so much later than other models. Maybe they can't decide if they are going to bring them stateside or not. They sell so many Groms that it makes sense to keep pumping them out but these could easily be discontinued and wouldn't make much of a difference to Honda. The only reason there is high demand is that there aren't that many of them imported.

I'd love to have an orange or yellow one but I'm not getting rid of Booger and not paying ADM again.

When Honda announced the 2023 they stated they would be shipping 23 & 24 model years.
The motorcycle world has went wacky - can't get any info. from dealers other than a shoulder shrug followed by IDK.

I don't recall the press release saying they would be shipping 2024's and that would be a weird thing for a press release to say. The press release lumped the 2023 Trail with the 2024 Ruckus and Metropolitan which I believe is leading to the confusion.

BaldRider,
You're correct I misread the Honda release wording, although I did see a YT video yesterday saying the same thing I said. But of course a video doesn't have to be factual.
Motorcycle manufacturers seem odd in that they produce something that's very popular like the camo colored Kawasaki KLX-300. Of which people are waiting in line for and many people have to wait until the following year. THEN they don't offer that color the next year. Manufacturers seem detached from their market.
Time will tell I guess.

Wait a minute. Are you telling me all YouTube videos are NOT factual? I hope the ones about a yellow trail 125 ARE factual

There are yellow trail 125s, but not yet announced for the US. In 2021, there was silver, brown, and red. The US only got red. So yellow may never show up.

You know, I walked into the Bike Dealer and bought a green 2023 then and there..... chance ? fate ? who knows, then they became scarce and unobtainable. Likewise the first part of this month Oct 23, I went into Ford and bought a Ford Bronco Sport then and there, now their somewhat following the CT's unobtainability with lines to get them..

The reason I'm optimistic about yellow coming here is a YouTuber that has purchased stickers that apparently have a yellow outer ring. He collects them for some reason. He said only US and Canada have Trail 125 on the stickers where the rest of the world it says CT 125 on themScreenshot_20231031-155527.png

Jeepers.. you didn't even watch the video.. LOL.. I clearly explained in the video why I collect the stickers and the yellow ring is not apparent but real, and the HONDA side decals also have a Yellow Sunglow background. You are not alone though, so don't feel badly. A typical viewer watches a few seconds and then drops out like you may have.

It's not as bad as it seems. I'm a subscriber to your channel. It's just when I heard about yellow in 2024 I was jumping in and out of YouTube videos and forums to find out if it was true. I want to get a deposit on one ASAP if it's true. I waited about a year and a half or so to get my green 2023. After giving it more thought, I seem to remember you give the stickers as gifts. So I do watch the videos but on that particular day, guilty as charged

No worries. Back to the question of when the 2024s will come out. I have no inside information. If I remember correctly, the USA announcement last year was about a month after the Canadian announcement, and as far as I know there hasn't been a Canadian announcement this year. I am very surprised that Canada seems to have gotten only one shipment last year, just as the dealers in Canada were saying at the start. It is like all the sea containers arrived in Canada on a single ship. I thought the "That's all we expect to get this year" might have just been a sales pitch, but now it looks like I was wrong.
It seems to me that Honda Powersports USA announced the 2021 Trail 125 in October of 2020, and Florida deliveries started in late December and early January to the Powerhouse dealers, based somewhat on FL352 rider joining the forum is October 24, and making a post that he was riding his on January 31, 2021.
I think the pattern was about the same the next year for the 2022 Trail in the USA.
From a post from dmonkey on February 17, 2023, I think Canada announced the 2023 on or close to that date:
https://hondatrail125.com/index.php...abs-makes-its-canadian-debut.1577/#post-16174
This post from another user indicated USA announced the 2023 on or around April 18, 2023:
https://hondatrail125.com/index.php...d-a-new-color-for-2023-in-us.1727/#post-18976
And deliveries began at the Powerhouse dealers shortly after.
None of this answers the question though as to when the 2024 will be announced in Canada or the US. Based on 2020 and 2021, I think the announcement is overdue. Based on the 2023 model timing, I think we might have to wait a couple more months.

Great video, great tease. Now let's see what Honda corporate has up their sleeve for announcements in North America. I'm waiting....deposit paid in August

Deer Honda, make it yellow (second choice for me is orange) a 150 to 170cc, a 5-speed gearbox (one down, four up) and add a gear indicator. Is that asking too much? I live in the real world so I know that it is. But they can't stop me from hoping

Is it common for a dealership to take a deposit before an announcement? I only ask because I JUST had one say “check back in spring”. I was wondering if I should try other dealerships or if it’s a matter of knowing a salesperson personally. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Taking a deposit and entering into a contract with expectation of delivering something they don't know will exist? I'd be suspicious of that! Getting on a list for them to reach out once it is announced sounds more reasonable. When the Honda Transalp returned to Europe I asked a few dealers to reach out if they came to the USA. Ended up at the top of a list without any deposit when the bike finally made it here. I passed on it and am now on the "if the 2025 model comes to the USA in Ross White" list. Honda really need to figure out their color options lol

As of November 2023 Honda have not yet EPA certified a 2024 Honda Trail 125. Right now the 2024 124/125cc models are Super Cub C125 ABS, Monkey ABS, GROM, GROM ABS per https://www.epa.gov/compliance-and-...ification-data-vehicles-engines-and-equipment

Great advice. I’ll be sure to use some of this specific verbiage when contacting other dealers. Thanks!
