Hello all. Lurker here with a deposit on a 2022 Trail 125. I called my dealer this week and they said that they were expecting an announcement from Honda about an ATV and "something mini-moto" which they were anticipating to be about the Trail 125 because as he put it "there's nothing else it could be". So fingers crossed we'll be hearing some news soon!
As far as I know there is no 2022 model (yet). Did your dealer tell you that?

Update from Texas: my order that was originated in January, then pushed to feb, then to march, then to march 31st is finally MINE. I will post a newbie thread soon, but here she is! Picked her up from Eastside Honda just east of Houston this weekend. She matches my 4Runner so well. Both have snorkels! IMG_6889.jpg

well for sure japan got a 22 model, so im sure its coming here.
I wouldn't assume that at all. Japan also has brown and green Ct125s. I do hope I'm wrong though! Would be kinda annoying for me to trade my 2 day old red ct125 in for a brown one, but I would have to do it

The 2022 CT125 is just a pearl green offering on the same specs? That's what I saw announced in Japan, unless I missed some mechanical overhaul since that announcement.

The ideal number of motorbikes to own is N+1, where N is the number you currently own. For mini motos it might even be N+2... :)
I learned to ride on a red Suzuki Trail Hopper, so I really like the idea of the new Dax. Especially that it comes equipped for 2-up riding.

I've read quite a few posts of people ordering bikes and taking delivery pretty quickly, and I'm wondering if my situation is unique. I gave a $250 deposit on 10/10/2020 to a reputable Honda dealer in the Denver area, and I've called to check in every 4-6 months. They always say "we'll reach out to you", but I've never heard anything. I called today and the person said they've delivered about 5 to customers, but "don't worry mine will be here at some point and they'll call me". When I placed my deposit, they said they only had 2-3 people ahead of me, so I'm getting pretty annoyed they have delivered more than there were reservations when I placed mine. I'm tempted to buy out of state, but of course I'd rather keep the business and relationship local if possible. Anyone else wait this long with literally no contact from their dealer?

Mine was 6 months 17 days from deposit to available for pickup at Peak Honda World in Littleton (would not recommend them). I called them regularly and they told me what number I was on the deposit wait list. I stopped calling and they eventually called me when it came in. I think I started at #13. The deposit amount was $500. I know they didn't deliver all 12 bikes ahead of me, some people got their deposits refunded and left the wait list - maybe they bought it elsewhere, maybe they decided not to buy it.

Wait lists aren't very formal, you can ask what number you are but if someone has a better relationship with the dealership (has bought more there, family, friend, etc) I wouldn't be surprised if they get ahead of you on the list.

Each time I've called I've asked where I am on the list and they just simply say someone will call me back, but I've quite literally never received a call back from them. I have a long term and extremely positive with Erico Motorsports, but they don't carry Honda. My deposit is with Fay Myers, and the only relationship I have with them is buying parts and gear and having some work done on a CRF250X and a CRF230. I'm sure they have people with a better relationship, but it's frustrating to get ghosted over and over. I honestly just wish they'd say there was little chance of me getting a bike so I could cancel my deposit and move on, but I don't want to do that if there's a chance I'll be getting one soon.

Unfortunately I wouldn't expect any kind of ETA from a dealership these days. I know that some people put deposits at multiple dealerships and then cancelled the rest when their bike arrived at one. If you're looking to expedite getting the bike, it might make sense to hunt it down yourself while retaining the deposit at the dealership as a backup plan in case they get it first.

I mentioned it in early 20, saying -if- they came here, I wanted one. they put my name down... no money down. they called me feb of 21 said' your trail showed up' and i went and got it (almost forgot about it). Id get your 250 back and find another dealer.

Deposit: $500
Waitlist position: #1
Order placed: Jul 27, 2021
Order delivered: Feb 12, 2022
Difference: 200 days

@dmonkey:
Deposit: $500
Waitlist position: #13
Difference: 6 months 17 days (~190 days)

There's a pretty big difference between those two. That means that for dmonkey, they delivered (EDIT) up to 13-14 bikes in the same time period that the dealership I placed my deposit at received 2. Similar to this, my local dealership in Seattle has received 2 bikes in approximately the same time period. I called the place I got mine from because they'd just received a shipment that weekend and weren't fast enough to clear it off the website, so it was a reliable 200 days between shipments at that specific dealership.

These bikes appear in crates of 2 bikes IIRC, so being in position 2-3 means you're either next or you're the shipment after. If you are not cash strapped, I very much encourage searching around in the meantime, etc. and trying to find one, particularly in OK and KS where they have been popping up on Motohunt fairly reliably. (EDIT: for reference, today is 523 days since you put your deposit down)

I also know that @Tumbleweedtattooer was waitlisted at position #3 when I was in position #1. If we're going with cadence for dealer distribution being approximately consistent, #3 bike will be delivered on or before August 31, 2022. Hey Siri, remind me to check back with Tumbleweedtattooer on August 31.
