Love seeing all you've done with it. Mine will be very close to stock. If I have to carry a lot of things, I'm taking the Talon! This is it coming home from the dealer. I've got about $3000 in accessories on it now with winch, Rotopax, windshields, guards, mirrors, bags, etc.
A few years ago, my brother and I rode motorcycles to Toroweap Overlook in the Grand Canyon. 6 hours of eating dirt. We get to the spot, and these cats pull up in SxS's. Coolers, plenty of fuel, music, food. I told my brother that we clearly went about this the wrong way. 😵

All my camping kit fits in this bag, it's taken several years to find what works for me, even then it's constantly evolving. The hard part is figuring out what NOT to carry!cgct 005.JPG

I had most every Wolfman item they sold. Sadly, it was all stolen when my storage unit was broken into. I have a few things left.

That's a good idea though. I'll have to start looking around. They've rubberized all the new Wolfman stuff. I'm not sure I like it.

Man that sucks, I'm sorry you got robbed. Yeah I don't care for the rubberized stuff either, but they sure make some good tough gear. I have some other Wolfman bags in a box somewhere, I need to dig it out and see what's there. I'm a comfortable minimalist when camping, not a lot of stuff, but the right stuff. I keep the bag loaded at all times and I can throw it on and go without thinking about it, that makes escaping easy for me.

That's pretty much where I want to be. I was going through my stuff, but got called for a flight. I'm interested in opinions, I'll load it up and post up here. I'd love to see if I'm heading in the right direction. It turns out, that I have aquired 3 tents over the years.

Not too sure about tying it to the box lid though. My brother says I have room for a crate of chickens.

Looks like you have it pretty well covered, enough to be comfortable and not overloaded. I carry a Eureka back country 1 tent, a klymit V static sleeping pad, a snugpak jungle sleeping bag, a folding table and chair, my old SVEA123 stove and a small kettle, coffee cup, a UCO candle lantern, a good knife, a hammock, a small flash light and a first aid kit. I don't cook, I just carry instant coffee and Mountain house freeze dried meals. They are light and easy to pack, plus they taste better than anything I can cook.

I think the no fire route is the way I'd like to go. I can pick up those Mountain House meals before I go on trip. I anticipate my trips to be one night at the most. The fire danger is always high out here anyway. It'll be bad enough with me bumbling around in the desert, without setting it alight too. What do you think about strapping it to the Apache box?

Maybe day 3 of my month in Chile and Argentina, saw 3-5 cars per day for some stretches and at least half was on dirt. You should have plenty, have a great trip!

I usually build a fire if I find a spot that looks safe for one. I have my pelican case on, but will remove it for camping. I don't see a problem with carrying your gear on top of the case , it isn't heavy enough to be a big deal. I always try to carry my gear as low as possible for better balance though.

Removing the case is easy enough. I'll probably get one of those Wolfman duffles. I like their stuff. It's good quality. I'm going to order one of those Snugpak jungle bags. I checked them out last night. Perfect for the desert.

I can probably strap the two gallon water container on top of the Wolfman duffel.

The cool thing about the jungle bag is it packs down to the size of a loaf of bread.

I like that it's a square bag. My other bag is a mummy, and I don't care for that feeling of not being able to move.

I forgot to mention, that with the camping bag up on the case like that, when it's on the sidestand, it wants to go right over. I see why they have the extra sidestand available. The centerstand is the way to go. Or, move the weight lower.

I carry my two canteens for drinking. I get water out of the creek or river to boil for coffee and the Mt. House meals.

It'd be nice to be able get water handlily out this way. (y) There use to be an old golf course we played at in Iowa when I was young. One of the holes had an old hand well pump, and a tin cup tied to it. We would get to that hole, and drink til we popped. The water was that cold and good. I'll always remember that.
