That is bs. Unless they aren’t a real Honda dealer and had to buy it from someone else. Anything over 4600 is gouging imo. And that’s on the road.
Call them, all Honda products MSRP NO EXTRAS. It’s not BS. Call them.

Oh it’s that 5 year warranty that you are paying for. That’s a waste of money imo. Unless you ride it as your primary transportation. Maybe.

I've done a deep dive into the 5y warranty because I bought it, then tried to look up how to get my bike towed. There are some additional benefits to it (e.g. towing) but it is extremely limited state-by-state coverage and nearly impossible to search ahead of time. I don't often say "grift" when talking about Honda, but it was absolutely a grift on the seller's end.

The towing aspect is silly IMHO, most insurance policies have that built in or added on for cheap. Regardless, odds are you will be waiting some time in most cases unless in a major city.

Yea warranties are generally a rip off. They don’t cover the wear and tear and most of the time that’s all you will have on a Honda.

Y'all are missing the point here.

I checked with my insurance company first, before I bought the bike, to see what their insurance coverage for towing a motorcycle was (they can answer for cars easily). They wanted me to upgraded my insurance for the cost of 1 tow a year to guarantee I got a flatbed instead of some guy who thought he could use a couple of slings and a hook style lift to lift the bike and damage various parts of the bike to which the sling was attached (which has happened multiple times before here). Keep in mind, my insurance is way more than this forum's average at the last insurance thread check (because Seattle) and that more than doubled the cost of my insurance.

Where I live the cost of living is very high; the cost of towing is very high; the motivation for tow truck companies to do a good job is very, very low. The break even point on the extended warranty vs. tows was 1-2 tows in 5 years. They can be VERY expensive here. I have a friend on speed dial that gets 8 mpg in his truck, lives 100mi away, and he's still cheaper than calling a tow truck most of the time.

You should also probably understand the reasoning for WHY you'd go for the warranty tow service. The tow service had two conditions: Within 30 miles, they'd tow you either to your local Honda, or tow you to your home. Outside of that, they'd tow you to your local Honda. There were a few other perks but those were the big ones for me specifically.

If they were offered here in Washington, the ROI proposition was enormous, especially since 1) this is my only motorized vehicle, 2) I didn't have any friends with pickup trucks or a trailer that could sort me out in a pinch at the time, 3) their basic coverage scenario covered 99.9% of my riding by mileage and risk, and 4) if I only used it twice, I'd get my money's worth.

To be blunt, this was a data driven decision that the services that could be provided sight unseen and/or by my insurance company would not guarantee the job was done right. Honda Warranty was the only one that offered the guarantee that should I use their service. Unfortunately, I couldn't check that they had service in the state of Washington before or during my visit to the dealership, and that was the loophole I missed to check that. If I lived in a state that had this coverage, it would be an excellent safety blanket.

I’m paying $5640 Canadian plus the 12% tax that we have here in British Columbia. This is the list price.

For the first time, as far as I’m aware, Honda Canada are listing the price on the website as an all in one price which includes $669 for freight, pdi and doc fees. Taxes are extra as each province has different taxes. Some dealers are trying to charge more by increasing the freight, pdi and doc fee.

Yup, been looking for cars lately and it's... not great. Supply is low, demand is high, and demand is getting higher in certain sectors. Another part of this is that the car rental market liquidated stock to cover costs in the last 2 years, so certain kinds of vehicles (people movers especially) are even higher in demand than normal as they try to reverse that. Around here I've seen secondhand Sienna's going for near new prices.

Flipside, certain kinds of vehicles are less in demand because they were more "COVID toys" than anything that are somewhat impractical once you go back to the 9-5 grind, so they're cheaper on the secondhand market. The CT125 is not one of them; it's a fantastic little commuter, an adventure buddy and a utilitarian vehicle rolled into one. No surprise the Supercub platform is the best selling motorcycle of all time.

Bought men few days ago paid MSRP plus $1500.00 for freight and set up which is about as good as you are going to get in Southern CA particularly
the LA area. Sort of disappointing that the dealership near me where I bought my side by side (Polaris XP Turbos S) where I get my service and parts from
they didn't care about that when they could ask and get 2K over MSRP plus freight and set up. Its still a sellers market but won't fell guilty on my next rig when I don't buy from them.

Out here in CA these bikes are waiting list only. If you put your name on the list you'd be lucky to get one in the next year. Looking at ones available for the last six months most are on the east coast. When they do pop up here and you call about them there is ALWAYS a waiting list of five or more people on it. The only way to get one in a timely manner here in California is to offer more money. They all have and ADM (Additional Dealer Markup) added to the MSRP. You will have to pay well over $6K here in NorCal to get one. I've been on five different waiting lists for over six months and have never received a call. I had to show up in person and negotiate my way off their waiting list ($$$). That said, money well spent to not wait another year for one...Just consider yourselves lucky to even own one. Love, love, love my 'motor driven cycle' (DMV definition).
